Kids Art Classes in Tengah — Creative Art (Ages 6–12)
Drawing, painting and mixed-media classes for primary-schoolers at our headquarters studio in Plantation Village — small groups of 4–8, taught by Coloury Art's full-time instructors, with every material provided. An easy walk for families across Tengah's Plantation district.
Why Tengah Families Choose Creative Art at Our HQ Studio
Tengah isn't a satellite branch — it's the studio where Coloury Art's curriculum is written. Here's what that means for your child's weekly art class.
Taught at the Curriculum HQ
Creative Art at Tengah is delivered by the team that designs the programme for all five Coloury studios — your child learns from the source, not a copy of it.
A Dedicated Creative Art Room
Three combined units (#01-381/383/385) mean Creative Art runs in its own room — never sharing tables with toddler sessions or portfolio students.
Walkable from the Plantation BTOs
Ground-floor, street-level studio inside Plantation Village Retail Street — an easy walk home for families across Tengah's Plantation district.
Weekend Mornings from 9am
Tengah HQ opens at 9am on Saturdays and Sundays — art done before lunch, with the rest of the weekend still free.
Full-Time Professional Instructors
Classes are led by Coloury Art's full-time educators — many holding fine arts degrees from NAFA, LASALLE and overseas institutions.
Everything Provided
Strathmore paper, Winsor & Newton paints, Faber-Castell drawing tools — all included in the class fee. Just bring your child and their curiosity.
What Your Child Learns, Ages 6–12
A structured progression that balances real technique with imagination — so children build visible skill and keep loving art.
Observational Drawing
Learning to really see — line, shape, proportion and shading from real objects. The foundation every confident young artist builds on.
Painting Fundamentals
Colour mixing, brush control and composition across watercolour and acrylic — moving from guided pieces to independent paintings.
Mixed Media & Making
Clay modelling, collage, printmaking and blow painting — diverse hands-on techniques that keep every term fresh.
Creative Thinking Projects
Story-driven projects where children plan, experiment and present their own ideas — creative confidence that carries into school and beyond.

Creative Art at Tengah — FAQs
My child has never taken an art class — is Creative Art still suitable?
Yes — Creative Art is built for beginners and improvers alike. With only 4–8 students per class, instructors adjust each project to your child's level, so a first-timer and a third-year student can both thrive in the same room. A trial class is the easiest way to see the fit.
What will my child actually learn?
The curriculum moves through observational drawing, painting fundamentals in watercolour and acrylic, and mixed media like clay, collage and printmaking — alongside imaginative projects that train creative thinking. The goal is real, visible skill growth without losing the fun.
How big are classes at the Tengah studio?
Classes are capped at 4–8 students across every Coloury branch. At Tengah HQ, Creative Art also has its own dedicated room within our three-unit studio, so sessions never share space with toddler or portfolio classes.
When do Creative Art classes run at Tengah?
After-school slots run Mon–Fri from 1pm to 9pm, and weekend classes run Sat–Sun from 9am. WhatsApp us at 8922 2848 for this term's exact timetable and availability.
Do I need to buy any art materials?
No — everything is provided, from premium Strathmore drawing pads to Winsor & Newton paints and Faber-Castell pencils, all included in the class fee. Aprons are provided too.
Can Creative Art lead into DSA portfolio preparation?
Yes — it's the natural pathway. Upper-primary students transition into our DSA Visual Arts Portfolio Preparation at the same Tengah studio, coached by the senior HQ mentors behind 50+ placements at Singapore's top secondary art programmes. See the DSA programme page for details.
